Visit by Na Fianna U-9's A huge contingent of mentors, players and parents from the Na Fianna arrived for a series of games organised by Donal Buggy and John Cormack on April 29th. After a fantastic days hurling a huge catering operation swung into action to feed the visitors. Click here for pictures from the Day
Visit to Erin's Own U-9's . Almost 50 nine year old Rockies descended on Glounthaune on Saturday to play Erin's Own in series of friendlies on April 15th . After some great hurling in which every youngster got a game, the honours were shared. Our thanks to the Erin's Own club for their kind invitation and especially to Joe O'Callaghan, Emmet Guest and Paddy Twomey.
Matches with Lisdoonvarna U-10's The 10 year old panel played two games with Lisdoonvarna hurling Club at Church Road on Sunday morning April 2nd , with honours even and every youngster getting a game. Thanks to Jody Crowley and the Blackrock coaches as well as Peter Casey and his mentors from Lisdoonvarna for a very enjoyable mornings hurling..Click here for pictures

Under 16 Carlow Town Cup. The Blackrock under 16 panel reached the final of this competition on Saturday 1st July at Carlow. Acknowledged unofficially as the All -Ireland under 16 Championship, Blackrock were seeking to retain the trophy which they won last year. Click here for Report

Blackrock 2 - 2 Durlas Og 1 - 2 Blackrock 1 - 3 Adare 2 - 3 Blackrock 3 - 3 St Finbarrs 2 - 1 Blackrock, Adare and Durlas Og all finished on four points, however Adares superior scoring proved decisive as they went into the quarter final.

Under 7's visit by Sarsfields The under 7s ( born 1999) entertained Sarsfields Hurling Club on Saturday 26th August at 10 am in a series of friendly games at Church Road. There was some great fun and excitement in the games in which all the youngsters took part. Our thanks to James Barry of Sarsfields for arranging this very enjoyable visit.

Ger Dineen Tournament. This prestigious competition in memory of the late Gerard Dineen for the under 13 hurlers was held in glorious sunshine at Church Road on Saturday 9th September. Sixmilebridge just edged out the Rockies in a thrilling final on the scoreline of 3 - 3 to 1 - 8. For the Rockies Dylan Stokes, Kevin O'Keeffe, Andy O'Connell and Darragh O'Keeffe were excellent all afternoon. click here for a report and pictures from the Tournament
